Milinx Develops Breakthrough Biometric Innovation Encryption Technology Patent

SEATTLE, WA - March 7, 2000 - Milinx Business Group, Inc., an Application Service Provider, announces the filing of a patent pending on revolutionary new security technology, breakthrough biometric encryption technology.

ASP Services: SaaS; PaaS; & IaaS

Through the company's Research and Development Department, Milinx has created an invention that amalgamates voice-authentication and fingerprint-reading capabilities that not only verify the identity of the user participating in the transaction, but also encrypts the data being sent from the user to an authorized destination by using a state-of-the-art encryption algorithm. The encryption process includes the user's individual biometric characteristics as part of the algorithm. This Infrastructure as a Service technology demonstrates leadership in secure delivery of network connections and data.

Although other biometric systems have been developed that involve the use of retinal scans and fingerprint reading technologies, Milinx has been awarded the patent pending on this new solution because it uniquely combines voice verification with fingerprint scans and data encryption.

The invention has potential applications in other business sectors aside from Application Service Providers and e-commerce facilitators. The biometric device can be completely user and device independent. More details will be announced in the coming weeks about these and other aspects of the breakthrough.

SphinxTrain Speech Modeling Open Source Library

CMU Sphinx 2 was a Java cross-platform compatible speech recognition engine with a modeling library. SphinxTrain provided modeling techniques through statistical language models (SLM) or finite state grammar (FSG). Both were used in the Biometric Threshold Security and ASP Application Command technology.

Milinx is currently completing its hosted operating system with miNETWORK, a network configuration wizard and administration control; miDRIVE for data storage and permission levels; and miWEBVOICE communications over IP. Import/Export for accounting and address books are being developed for ease of integration with all legacy applications.

Now Available: miDESKTOP is the center of a universe of Milinx hosted software for business, including miMESSAGING (unified messaging), miCUSTOMER (Customer Relationship Management), miSALES (sales force automation), miCOMMERCE (marketing and e-commerce), miCATALOG (product and inventory management) plus other applications that integrate, manage and administer miPORTAL with instant activation of all applications during the subscription process.

The redesigned and upgraded miMESSAGING is now integrated into all Milinx products, providing an even better way to manage messages and thus businesses. All fax, voice and e-mail messages are accessible via a secure inbox, or even by telephone through a personal 1-800 number that is included at no extra charge. miMESSAGING includes e-mail text-to-speech, fax header text-to-speech and follow me messaging.

Milinx is enabling its programs to securely share information to benefit the end user. If a user changes telephone and message settings in miMESSAGING they will automatically be changed in other Milinx programs that use the information. Call Detail Records (CDR) from miMESSAGING will be integrated into miCUSTOMER, the world's first fully hosted CRM application. Also, media on demand such as faxes and voice messages for customers will be accessible through miSALES thanks to this integration. That's because miMESSAGING, like all other Milinx applications at the Milinx Application Data Center, now uses the same Oracle database and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) global directory service.

miSALES provides secure Web-delivered tracking of sales, prospects and commissions; sales forecasting; account management; report generation; scheduling; return on investment (ROI) calculation; and media (fax/voice/e-mail) on demand through miMESSAGING. miCOMMERCE is a full-featured marketing and e-commerce solution with online payment by credit card, meta tags, business directory, tax calculation, coupons and promotions, business exchange management, and report generation. miCATALOG is a complete product and inventory management application and will integrate with the new e-procurement and supply chain management applications when they are released.

Milinx applications can be quickly deployed in small to medium sized businesses and have a short learning curve. Their low annual and monthly subscription rates make them extremely cost-effective for businesses. Another advantage is that they are an operating expense instead of a capital cost, and therefore tax-deductible for most businesses. This combined with integration into the world's first fully hosted operating system is taking a big step towards total consumer and business freedom with technology.

About Milinx Milinx develops, hosts, manages, and deploys its proprietary business applications on its Milinx Managed Application Platform (MMAP™) at its Application Data Center. Milinx defined the Systems/Mobile Application Provider (S/MAP) sector, in which businesses deliver infrastructure, access, products and services. Milinx markets its hosted software to channel affiliates, service providers, competitive local exchange carriers, and telephone companies for resale to end users.

JavaVoiceXML Released in March 2001

A prototype of Milinx JSAPI version of VoiceXML or JavaVoiceXML was released in March 2001. It was the digital document for specifying interactive media and voice dialogs between users and computers. Used for simplifying development of voice response applications such as voice activated commands for ASP applications and TTS technology.

Milinx - Speech Communication Provisioned in 2001

Research and development for this technology was in development to create intelligent applications that could use voice commands. SphinxTrain java web speech-synthesis APIs or speech synthesis modeling for speech communication was provisioned by 2001.
