Milinx to be Early to Market - Milinx Data Center Provisions Server, Storage, Network, Subscription Services
Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC, October 18, 2000 — Milinx Business Group, Inc. announces that four exciting new Web-delivered business software products for small-to-medium enterprises will be added to its lineup next month, ahead of projections including: Server; Storage; & Network Subscription Services.
ASP & Infrastructure Services: SaaS; PaaS; and IaaS
These Web-based applications are written in Java and will be released ported to an Oracle 8i Database for high-volume transaction handling, stability and security. Milinx will host these proprietary solutions at its wholly owned Application Data Center and deliver them over the Internet to small businesses on a subscription basis. Milinx is a cost-effective alternative to software in a box, and a way to contain explosive growth of information technology (IT) spending.
Maynard L. Dokken says the technical direction of building Milinx proprietary applications will be based on Web services. "These are the basis for constructing distributed Web-based applications in a platform-independent object model." Web Services are based on open Internet standards such as Extensible Markup Language (XML).
This architecture will also allow Milinx to design and execute Web service-based applications to find each other and collaborate on business transactions. Programming and development times will decrease. Customers will be able to integrate and further extend their existing "legacy" systems.
He notes, "Using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) with XML as the underlying structure, this framework will allow maximum interoperability and full integration of all future Milinx offerings. We will use the Internet as the network and underlying infrastructure."
Milinx miDesktop Application Universal OS with Data Exchange Protocol
In 2001 Milinx technology included the integration of a Universal OS for all current operating systems with automated data formatting on its MMAP Platform. A similar data technology was not released until 2008 when Google released "open source" the Buffer Protocol as a Data Interchange Format. Milinx was in production in 2001 with miDesktop and Universal Application Data Exchange using Java Beans and Oracle technology with meta-data class mapping.
Milinx is currently completing its hosted operating system with miNETWORK, a network configuration wizard and administration control; miDRIVE for data storage and permission levels; and miWEBVOICE communications over IP. Import/Export for accounting and address books are being developed for ease of integration with all legacy applications.
Now Available: miDESKTOP is the center of a universe of Milinx hosted software for business, including miMESSAGING (unified messaging), miCUSTOMER (Customer Relationship Management), miSALES (sales force automation), miCOMMERCE (marketing and e-commerce), miCATALOG (product and inventory management) plus other applications that integrate, manage and administer miPORTAL with instant activation of all applications during the subscription process.
The redesigned and upgraded miMESSAGING is now integrated into all Milinx products, providing an even better way to manage messages and thus businesses. All fax, voice and e-mail messages are accessible via a secure inbox, or even by telephone through a personal 1-800 number that is included at no extra charge. miMESSAGING includes e-mail text-to-speech, fax header text-to-speech and follow me messaging.
Milinx is enabling its programs to securely share information to benefit the end user. If a user changes telephone and message settings in miMESSAGING they will automatically be changed in other Milinx programs that use the information. Call Detail Records (CDR) from miMESSAGING will be integrated into miCUSTOMER, the world's first fully hosted CRM application. Also, media on demand such as faxes and voice messages for customers will be accessible through miSALES thanks to this integration. That's because miMESSAGING, like all other Milinx applications at the Milinx Application Data Center, now uses the same Oracle database and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) global directory service.
miSALES provides secure Web-delivered tracking of sales, prospects and commissions; sales forecasting; account management; report generation; scheduling; return on investment (ROI) calculation; and media (fax/voice/e-mail) on demand through miMESSAGING. miCOMMERCE is a full-featured marketing and e-commerce solution with online payment by credit card, meta tags, business directory, tax calculation, coupons and promotions, business exchange management, and report generation. miCATALOG is a complete product and inventory management application and will integrate with the new e-procurement and supply chain management applications when they are released.
Milinx applications can be quickly deployed in small to medium sized businesses and have a short learning curve. Their low annual and monthly subscription rates make them extremely cost-effective for businesses. Another advantage is that they are an operating expense instead of a capital cost, and therefore tax-deductible for most businesses. This combined with integration into the world's first fully hosted operating system is taking a big step towards total consumer and business freedom with technology.
About Milinx Milinx develops, hosts, manages, and deploys its proprietary business applications on its Milinx Managed Application Platform (MMAP™) at its Application Data Center. Milinx defined the Systems/Mobile Application Provider (S/MAP) sector, in which businesses deliver infrastructure, access, products and services. Milinx markets its hosted software to channel affiliates, service providers, competitive local exchange carriers, and telephone companies for resale to end users.
SOAP & XML Developer's Guide
2001 - Using The Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), a lightweight, XML-based protocol for exchanging information in a decentralized, distributed environment Milinx is able to combine SOAP-based requests and responses with a transport protocol, such as HTTP, and turn the Internet into a medium for applications to publish database-backed Web services, such as used in the MMAP and SMAP Platforms.
How this technology works for on our platforms is detail in the Oracle SOAP & XML overview in this link
2008 & 2011 - Android & Chromebook were released many years later without a Universal OS
2008 & 2011 - As the world absorbed the first fully hosted desktop operating system it was over 7 years for Android and a decade later for Chromebook.
It should be noted not only was the Universal OS or World First Hosted Desktop & Mobile OS being released it was also being introduced as a Linux version using Sun Microsystem for Microsoft devices through a Mandrake OS Sun Microsystem integration.
